What
is OKITE
A product of Seieffe Industries
Italy, OKITE is a specially developed quartz
based (93% quartz and 7% resin) stone surfacing material.
Resistant to stains, scratches and heat yet, reflecting the
radiance of natural stone, OKITE is an ideal
product for the home or office. Available in a array of colors,
this extremely durable, non porous material does not require
sealing or polishing – a distinct advantage over granite,
marble, limestone or soapstone, which all require routine
maintenance. Providing beauty versatility and durability,
OKITE is the product of choice for nearly
all environments including: hospitality, institutional, commercial
and residential projects.
Technical/ Functional Characteristics of the Product
OKITE
is manufactures and formed into large polished measuring 10’
long X 4.6’ wide with thick nesses ranging from 6’’ to 1.2’’.
It can be cut into tiles for flooring, floating flooring,
wall cladding, threads, risers, skirting and, of course, kitchen
counter tops, bathroom vanity tops, partitions walls as well
as endless other possibilities
Assembling
and Installing Tops
OKITE is compatible with natural stone plaster and natural
stone sealing products currently available on the market.
For tops requiring assembly of two or more thick nesses, adhesive
mastics, resin additives with the relevant quick hardening
agents (by component) or polyurethane adhesives can be used.
The latter, while having excellent bonding characteristics,
needs a longer drying time to create thickness. For installation
of worktops on supports such as wood or- iron, use of by-component
polyurethane adhesives or silicone sealers is strongly recommended.
Maintenance
- Protection
OKITE is a high performance, low-absorbent surface material
that easy to clean and maintain. Because of its content and
proven durability, OKITE~ does not absorb liquids or odors
and offers the luster and beauty of stone but without the
worries. Unlike natural materials, OKITE is highly resistant
to heat and stains and
stands up to most domestic accidents (lines, scratches etc).
Additionally, OKITE can withstand exposure to heat from normal
cooking temperatures on a limited basis. However, since extreme
heat may affect or damage an OKITE surface, use of a trivet
or pad is strongly recommended.

Cleaning
To clean ÏÊÉÔÅ, a damp cloth is usually sufficient. For sticky
spots detergent or a general cleaning solvent is suggested.
As with any countertop, immediate attention to cleaning spills
is encouraged. However, ÏÊÉÔÅ is able to perform even after
being exposed to tea, wine, vinegar, lemon juice, fruits and
vegetables without
staining-unlike natural stone.
For stubborn stains, household cleaning products such as Bar
Keeper's Friend, Zud Cleanser, Lysol and Whirl are effective.
For extremely stubborn spills, a scouring pad can be used
without causing damage to the top. Rinse thoroughly to remove
any residue, which will likely diminish the shine of the countertop.
For removal of stains from grease, dried
food, paint, nail polish or other substances, gently scrape
away the excess with á blade or putty knife. As ÏÊÉÔÅ is harder
than a steel blade, excessive scraping may leave a gray metal
mark.
If this happens clean the area with a recommended cleanser
(Bar Keeper's Friend, Zud Cleanser, Lysol and Whirl) and a
scouring pad, and any residue or mark should disappear.
